This blog is dedicated to my nephew, Landon. Landon isn’t your typical 4 year old, he suffers from a disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Never heard if it? That’s ok, we hadn’t either. The easiest way to explain Landon’s condition is this: his brain is fine, and his muscles are fine it’s the communication in between the two that’s the problem. Landon was born without his SM1 gene. The job of the SM1 gene is telling the brain to preserve the muscles he was born with. The purpose of this blog is to inform others about SMA, and to share a little bit of the joy that Landon brings to our lives daily.
